In the last couple of days I created a wood substance in Substance Designer to use on my platform bench asset. I then unwrapped and fully textured the bench in Substance Painter utilising the substance I created. Having had some feedback on my wooden planks texture for the platform I decided to make the roughness map a bit rougher (so it's now not as shiny) and split the Substance graph into 2 separate materials; a wooden plank texture with no moss and one heavily covered in moss. At the moment I'm unsure whether or not I'm going to use the mossy material because once I've modelled the platforms I'm going to use vertex painting to blend the two together.
However I'm not sure whether or not it would look better vertex painting with the moss texture that I'm going to use on the station walls (along with a height map) or this new mossy wood planks texture or BOTH!
